Mariah is not the only artist that is called to mind when listening to CHLOEJET. We are also reminded of RAYE, and Ariana Grande, as she sings of the struggles in life, and the power that is required to conquer them.

Speaking of the track, CHLOEJET said,

“I experienced this intense feeling of heaviness, both mentally and emotionally, which led me to change the direction of the song entirely. I decided to scrap the original lyrics and use the production Lewis had already created as the foundation for something much more personal.”

‘Heavy Handed’ was originally a demo with initial lyrics, but came to true life during a studio session which saw CHLOE working with producer Lewis Cordwell.

‘Heavy Handed’ explores the issue of overthinking, which so many of us fall prey to, where we can’t escape the overwhelming feeling of our thoughts becoming so heavy as to feel almost as if they are a physical weight. The creative process of the song took place over two intense four-hour sessions, which saw the artist lay down the powerful vocals, and afterwards further enhanced to fully embrace the song’s essence. CHLOE’s whistle notes feel almost supernatural in their range, showcasing her sheer talent.
