‘Why?’, the lead single from singer-songwriter Rhian Aoun’s upcoming album, is a poignant and thought provoking track that serves as a fabulous introduction to this artist’s beautiful voice.
Succinct at just 93 seconds long, yet deeply personal, ‘Why?’ opens up the way for the eight tracks of Rhian’s new album, setting the stage with her honest emotional tone, which is both raw and relatable. Rhian’s vocals are rich yet ethereal, and the track, despite its brevity, is nonetheless anthemic as the artist asks those questions that remain after the end of a loving relationship, illustrating the vulnerability experienced, especially if you weren’t prepared for it to be over.
‘Why?’, produced by SB90, is accompanied by a stunning music video, created by District Down Under, which you can watch below.
Rhian Aoun’s music explores the sort of subject matter that we can all relate to – those themes of heartbreak, betrayal, and self-discovery that we’ve all experienced from time to time. With her mellifluous voice, she captures those experiences and transforms them lyrically, back them with mystical instrumentals. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, she started performing on stage at the age of 6, singing and playing piano for a transfixed audience, and from there she honed her love for music throughout her school years, before releasing her debut single, ‘Quiet’, in 2020, a school project inspired by the musical style of Billie Eilish. From there, she gained further attention as one of the five finalists on a reality competition hosted by Australian pop artists The Veronicas, alongside Samsung Galaxy.
‘Why?’ is out now, and is available to stream and download here.
