Emoni Wilkins spreads joy and optimism with every note she sings, and no less so in her latest gospel track and music video, ‘Wonder’.
Growing up in a musical family in Chigago, Emoni started out on her musical journey at the age of 17, when she joined the New Direction choir, which she later followed up by studying music at prestigious institutions such as the Dorolyn Academy of Music and Northeastern University.
With a genuine, dazzling personality, along with an undeniable vocal talent, doors were opened for her, which allowed her to travel around the world, and sing with legendary artists such as CeCe Winans, Celine Dion, and Enrique Iglesias. She even sang for Disney in Tokyo.
“Emoni” means “faith” in Swahili, and she is certainly a beacon of faith, with her aim to remind listeners to “give themselves grace every day.” Emoni doesn’t just inspire on stage, she also proudly coaches more than thirty up and coming vocalists, and recently launched a vocal care prep kit through her company InTheKeyOfDElixir.
‘Wonder’ was written and produced by award-winning gospel artist Jekalyn Carr as part of ‘The Inspiration Project’, a compilation EP highlighting rising standout gospel musicians. In her performance, Emoni embraces each word of the song, infusing love and respect for God, as if she is speaking directly to Him from her very heart. The music that accompanies her is equally vibrant, with a classic choral flair. With intricate riffs, effortless runs, and soaring belts, Emoni glides through the track with ease, leaving listeners in awe.
