Hudson Thames Makes An Important Decision In New Single, ‘Wrong’

In his emotional new single ‘Wrong’, Los Angeles pop-rock artist Hudson Thames is faced with the difficult decision of knowing which path to pursue: that of dedicating his life to his career, and thus neglecting his partner, or focusing on his partner, in the knowledge that his artistic career will suffer.

No matter which direction he takes, he’s going to have regrets, and always wonder if he’d chosen the wrong road to travel on.

There’s a lot of fear of missing out, along with defiance, heartbreak, and determination in ‘Wrong’. Hudson Thames is standing on a precipice; if he takes the leap and throws himself wholly into his career then he will be always wondering what would have happened if he hadn’t. He’s well aware of the consequences of his actions, but at the same time, he fears they’re not ones that are entirely under his control. He lets the music ebb and flow around him, and the listener can feel his desperation, passion, and even some dark humour – by the end of the track, we feel like we know him, but at the same time we know it’s better not to give our advice as to his decision. He must do it for himself.

Hudson Thames isn’t just a musician, he’s also a screen actor with appearances under his belt on such shows as ‘Mad Men’, ‘Welcome To The Family’, ‘American Soul’, and ‘Ghosts’. He uses his acting talent in the music video for ‘Wrong’, and brings the character he’s portraying to life. Directed by Taylor Gray and Violett Beane, we see Hudson shrouded in shadow, pulled by forces he doesn’t entirely understand through a series of white doors. Behind one door is a girlfriend, played by dancer Camila Arana, with the potential of a future life together; another door leads to a party held in his honour; yet another door opens to a microphone and a captive audience. He fits right in, no matter which choice he takes, and yet, it’s not long until he is overcome with confusion, swinging from option to option, with mounting desperation. All the while, the overwhelming sense that his choices aren’t entirely his own. It’s a hard road ahead of him, and a difficult choice.
