You’ll know from the opening notes of ‘Takin’ It Easy’ that Kelsey and Lisa have been inspired by the late great Jimmy Buffet, but there’s also influences in evidence from Bob Marley and Kenny Chesney, among others, with the vibrancy of their island rock track also showing signs of country stylings.
Kelsey and Lisa first met when they found themselves spontaneously performing together at a local venue; the response to their pairing was so enthusiastic they decided to do something with it. Despite coming from different states – Carolina and Georgia – Kelsey DiMarco and Lisa Butler have since become inseparable, and they’ve performed in their home states and beyond.

Written by country music veterans Billy Sherrill (Tammy Wynette, George Jones), Mark Sherill (Blake Shelton, TG Sheppard), and singer Lacy J. Dalton, the song tells the oh so familiar story of wanting desperately to leave all the troubles of the world behind. With gorgeous steel drums, chill guitar, and mellow percussion, listeners are transported to the relaxing breezes and sunshine of the Caribbean. With Kelsey and Lisa’s voices complementing each other perfectly, duetting and exchanging lines with an undeniable chemistry, ‘Takin’ It Easy’ feels like the embodiment of summer.
Likewise, the music video for ‘Takin’ It Easy’ is an homage to the island lifestyle. Shot in Key West, Florida, and directed by Fabian Alicastro, the pair are shown meeting for “a few days in the keys”, where they are set against a stunning backdrop of crystal-blue water, bobbing sailboats, and towering palms.
