Jim Peterik Is An ‘American Dreamer’ With New Video And Single Featuring Dave Miculskis

You know Jim Peterik. Founder of both Survivor, and The Ides Of March, he’s a cool character with the talent to match. Jim’s new single, ‘American Dreamer’, is an upbeat and catchy track, featuring singer Dave Miculskis, and it’ll leave you filled with hope and a new zest for life.

Peterik is the composer of some of the best rock songs you’ve heard of – he wrote the classic, ‘Eye Of The Tiger’, and he’s written for Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Beach Boys, REO Speedwagon, .38 Special, among many others. ‘American Dreamer’ seems set to join them in the pantheon of hits.

More than just a new song and video, ‘American Dreamer’ sees Peterik complete the narrative quest he started back in 1979 with ‘Somewhere in America’, from Survivor’s debut album. All of the trademarks of his writing are to be found in it, including massive drums, high power riffs, memorable choruses and melody and a stunning six-string solo. ‘American Dreamer’ sees him join up with singer Dave Mikulskis, who specialises in reinterpreting and reanimating the radio hits of the 1980s. He’s an American dreamer too, and the perfect match for this song.

The lyric video for ‘American Dreamer’ contains all the elements Americans would associate with The Dream: blue skies, vast horizons, golden sandy beaches and surf, the streets, and the gorgeous young men and women who work, live, and play there. There’s also clips of Jim Peterik and Dave Mikulskis in the studio, working their magic, living the dream. It’s a great visual that pairs well with this earworm of a song, and encourages everyone to grasp hold of the American Dream, stand out, and “shine like a star.”
