There’s A War Going On: Jeff Liberman Shares That ‘The Windy City’ Could Be Anywhere

Jeff Liberman began taking music seriously at the age of 17, when he would practice modes and riffs on his guitar of a morning before leaving for school. From there he started writing and recording his original songs, soon rising to be a music sensation in his hometown of Chicago. Liberman has managed to balance his lifestyle of a musician and a family man, creating a harmonious life that’s seen him work with the likes of legendary songwriter Jim Peterik (best known for his work with Survivor), and world class producers, such as Larry Millas, and in so doing, created a sense of individuality by staying optimistic and enduring.

Jeff Liberman’s latest single, ‘Windy City’, sees the artist use his talents to spread a serious message and encourage conversation about the dark reality of crime-ridden city. Capturing through haunting lyrics and rock guitar riffs, played by Liberman himself, he captures the terror experienced by those who live and work in these danger zones, and with his strong and determined vocals he reaches out to the listener, insisting that changes must be made, to bring an end to the horror and violence.

The accompanying lyric video for ‘The Windy City’ leads viewers on a journey of grimness and danger, through Chicago, but it could be any major city anywhere. Dark dreary streets, with “caution” tape lining them, to suspicious characters in alleyways, remind viewers that these things happen in the cities they themselves live in. Liberman gives a voice to the voiceless, but asks when the powers that be will finally take a stand and sort it all out.
