The Lori P. Davis Project Returns With New Single And Video, ‘Hell 2 Pay’

Back in April we introduced readers to Akron Ohio’s The Lori P. Davis Project. Headed by the sassy and classy front woman who gives her name to the band, their previous release, ‘Bad Boy‘, was the perfect addition to any road-trip soundtrack. Now, new release ‘Hell 2 Pay’, sees her tell the story of the return of an old flame, and the accompanying fear of being burned again.

Lori, in a duet with Mike Darby, negotiates the terms of rekindling their fling, and the immensely relatable lyrics, along with a passionate saxophone, will have you quite possibly contemplating that one who got away.

The music video for ‘Hell 2 Pay’, directed by Lori P. Davis and Chuck Mayfield, paints a vivid picture of Lori’s experience. Previously romanced by a bar-brawling roustabout, she takes it solo, only to meet up with her former crush later in life. As she struts her stuff seductively, she makes the man aware that he’s going to have to work hard if he’s ever to find a way back into her heart. It’s a warning to those bad boys of her previous release, that there’s no hope for reconciliation unless they actively change their ways.
