Back in April, nationally acclaimed pianist and singer Janet Noh released the song ‘All Love’. Now, she’s following up that song with her latest work, ‘Do What You Want’, set for release on July 31, the latest single from her upcoming debut EP. Janet has been working hard on her EP, and this new song is just a snippet of what she’s been making behind the scenes.
Formerly a Wall Street investment banker, Janet Noh had what she calls a ‘million-dollar career’ on her doorstep but found that the Wall Street lifestyle was draining and stopped her from working on her passion. She left that life behind to pursue a career in music instead, becoming a nationally acclaimed pianist and teacher along the way, teaching at colleges all around America and having her music featured in films. Now, she is working on a debut EP incorporating not only her piano knowledge, but different genres she has experience in, starting with the newest single off the EP, ‘Do What You Want’.
As is tradition with Noh’s work, the song incorporates elements of multiple different genres to create a powerful, energetic mix. The main elements of the song are urban pop and R&B, with a masterful piano performance mixed in. Delivered through Noh’s brilliant vocals, the lyrics describe carving your own path and the challenges it brings – challenges she faced herself when going through her music career. Overall, the song is incredible, with a positive message and great instrumentals, and is some of her best work yet.
