After Taking Over The Gaming Industry, ANEEA Sets Her Sights On The Scandinavian Pop Scene With Her Album, ‘Nostalgia’

Out today, ‘Nostalgia’ is the new album from Norwegian artist, ANEEA.

If you’ve ever played Ubisoft’s ‘Just Dance’ series, you’ll know ANEEA’s music, even if you don’t know her face. She’s thrived as the resident artist for the dance game series, where she was the first ever artist to be featured on the franchise, appearing as ANJA alongside musical superstars such as Britney Spears, Katy Perry and Beyonce.

‘Nostalgia’ is ANEEA’s HyperPop project, with the album having an incredible 16 tracks, with futuristic techno elements reminiscent of Kesha (‘Big Girl Now’), synth-pop a la Lady Gaga (‘Broke Golddiggaz’), and retro pop similar in style to Britney Spears (‘Club Queen’). Essentially ANEEA is a vocal chameleon, and her tracks are all undoubtedly absolute bangers that will get you up and dancing.

She slows down the pace a little on ‘Not The One’, and we feel that the first three songs were an introduction for those who’ve come to her from ‘Just Dance’, and with track 4 she was allowing the listeners to hear more of what she’s actually like. Likewise, ‘Goodbye’ is mellow and contemplative, and serves as a showcase to ANEEA’s vocal prowess.

‘Nostalgia’ is a nod to ANEEA’s musical journey, which has seen her go from living in her car to studying at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, founded by Paul McCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty, where she honed her songwriting talents.

ANEEA’s career has seen her travel the world, including London, Barbados, Los Angeles, and Montreal, Canada, the latter of which is where her manager presented her music to Ubisoft. ANEEA has since had a Top 3 iTunes hit with her FIFA World Cup single, ‘Champions In White’, and performed at both London Fashion Week, and the MTV European Music Awards when it was hosted in Liverpool in 2008.

ANEEA, who has now returned to her homeland of Norway, will release a VR exclusive music video on the first of June.
