Erin Côté Releases New Single, ‘Crazy Ex Girlfriend’ From Latest EP, ‘Cheeky Saint’

Based in Vancouver, Erin Côté writes in a refreshingly bold and open way with her new single, ‘Crazy Ex Girlfriend’. The track is from her EP, ‘Cheeky Saint’, which likewise is packed full of meaning.

The track serves as a showcase for Erin’s immaculate vocals, as well as her biting wit, with lines such as,

“I wasn’t crazy until you showed me how / Now psycho is all that I know”

Laid on a stripped back orchestral pop instrumental, Erin’s rich clear vocals rise to the forefront, with a RnB style tone, hauntingly reminiscent of Amy Winehouse.

‘Crazy Ex Girlfriend’ serves as a fantastic showcase for Erin’s superb lyrical ability, and the music is perfectly matched to the words. This is pretty much her stock in trade, and the same can be said for the other songs on the ‘Cheeky Saint’ EP, with each finding its own niche, allowing Erin to take her listeners where she leads.

‘Crazy Ex Girlfriend’ was produced by Jeff Dawson. Guitar and piano provided by Keith Burchnall, who produced the ‘Cheeky Saint’ EP overall.
