Swedish all-female hard rock quartet THUNDERMOTHER have been chosen by Whitesnake to open for them on their farewell tour, and it doesn’t take much of a listen to their music to find out why. ‘Watch Out’, their latest single, is a prime example of their sound, and it’s awesome.
But THUNDERMOTHER don’t just rock hard – they’re all talented, skilled musicians, and lead vocalist Guernica Mancini knows a thing or two about roaring, headbanger style. ‘Watch Out’, from their upcoming fifth album, ‘Black And Gold’, shows that not only are a great female band, they’re an incredible band altogether; masters of hard rock and power metal, and keepers of the flame, with their sound, that any fan of 70s or early 80s guitar music will lap up.
Calling on the spirits of AC/DC, Judas Priest, even Aerosmith, THUNDERMOTHER come straight out of the gate like a bull in all its pulverising intensity. The purest of heavy metal, ‘Watch Out’ stands as a declaration of THUNDERMOTHER’s position as the Queens of the genre. The video is equally regal, showing the four members of the band going at it as hard as they can. Drums pounding, bass thrumming, and a guitar solo on top of a stack of amps. Of course! The clip shows them waking up after a hard previous night, then travelling together to practice, headbanging as they go, the beautiful Swedish countryside rolling out behind them. Oh yeah, and did I mention they literally set their performance space on fire?
