Debbi O Taps Into 80s Nostalgia With The Release Of Her New Single, ‘Sweet Love’

‘Sweet Love’ is the new single from South London singer, Debbi O. The song, which is set for release tomorrow, September 3, is rooted in 80s nostalgia, with a nod to Sade’s ‘Sweetest Taboo’.

From the first note, Debbi O’s new single, ‘Sweet Love’ will feel familiar, and there’s a good reason for that. An Afrobeats Pop artist, Debbi O mixed modern day Afrobeats with an 80s nostalgic style, especially inspired by the soulful vocals of Sade’s ‘Sweetest Taboo’.

‘Sweet Love’ follows on from Debbi O’s debut single ‘Lethal’, which was released in 2017. The artist describes her music as a blend of slow ballads, R&B, Pop and Afrobeats, and she is constantly writing hooks and coming up with new melodies, all the while pouring her heart and soul into her music.

Debbi O worked with three producers on the single, using the experience as a learning process, and noting that although the recording process isn’t always smooth sailing, it’s always worth it in the end. A moving and passionate song, ‘Sweet Love’ will fill the listener with the warmth of love, and is sure to set Debbi O on an exciting new chapter in her musical career.

Previously Debbi O has performed at Black Cultural Archives, and is looking forward to more live opportunities in the post-lockdown world. Watch this space!

‘Sweet Love’ will be available tomorrow to stream and download on all digital platforms, and can be pre-saved here.
