Maribased1 – ’48 Ratchet’ ft Beat King

On his new single, ’48 Ratchet’, Maribased1 is joined by Houston’s BeatKing.

BeatKing, also known as “Club Godzilla,” rose to fame with his avant-garde approach to Southern club music. He’s been surrounded by music forever, and knows what it takes to draw listeners in, such as his 2 Million plus monthly Spotify listeners, as well as millions of streams.

Already, ’48 Ratchet’ is having an impact on the digital and college radio charts, and hit the top spot on the Urban Influencer and Radio Expert chart, as well as #9 on the Top 30 College Radio chart.

“Ratchet” used to be an insult, but nowadays it’s a compliment, thanks to its adoption in hip-hop, and normalisation in pop culture. In ’48 Ratchet’, Maribased1 and BeatKing are wanting women to embrace their sexually wild side, and do so without shame or care. As they rap their supercharged bars, they make pop culture references; to TikTok, IG fans, and CardiB, with her sex positivity.

The music video shows an animated Maribased1 and BeatKing strolling through an estate, towards a mansion, and into the club, laying down their bars along the way. Produced by DJFunkDaddy, the emphasis is on the beat, and it escalates in time to the pursuits of the rappers. It’s an anthem of positivity, dedicated to ratchets, those who are, and those who are on their way to becoming so.
