Jamila Hache Releases Video For Latest Single ‘Contra El Suelo’

Just in time for Chinese New Year, LA based Venezuelan Jamila Hache’s single, ‘Contra El Suelo’ takes its inspiration from the philosophy of Yin Yang.

The music video is 70% animation, with vibrant characters bringing the song to justify. The pre-chorus is written in Chinese, and translates into English as,

Opportunity knocks on your door only once, but if you want something, you should go after it

It’s Jamila’s aim to honour Chinese culture, and she shows the breadth of her talent as an artist in this track, which also includes the use of Chinese instruments. It’s a united nations of musical styles and sounds, with Hache singing in Spanish, the music having a Latin vibe, and the live action dancers wearing white masks, reminiscent of those used in Chinese opera.

Jamila is a natural born entertainer, and in addition to her music she is an actress and voiceover artist. Musically her inspiration includes, as well as Latin beats and Chinese vibes, American hip hop, and Flamenco. She considers VaVa and Rosalia to have been key influences in her sound.
