Set for release on December 18, ‘Because They Care’ is the new single from Nottingham artist, Raphic. The track is a heartwarming and uplifting tribute to those who are working on the frontlines during this year’s Covid-19 Pandemic, the healthcare and key workers.
Having worked in a hospital himself, Raphic wanted to help out and express his gratitude in the most realistic way he could think of – by writing and releasing a charity single. His aim is to raise £10,000 for Nottingham Hospital Charity to support the Baby MRI Appeal, and with the upbeat and positive, dancehall style track, he is sure to make waves.
Born in Jamaica, Raphic is nowadays based in Nottingham, where he has set up and runs the Serious Time Label, through which he releases the reggae and dancehall influenced tracks he writes an produces. Raphic has previously toured around Europe with the dancehall legend, Beenie Man.
Set to a simple percussive beat and opening with an an acapella chorus, that is soon joined by some electronic instrumental elements, Raphie shares his joy and gratefulness to those who have gone out of their way to make sure everything continues during the pandemic: “they carry on every day with a smile on their face, and they do it because they care”.
