LashaiJay is an R&B singer whose second official single, ‘Sweet Lady’ comes ahead of her debut mixtape, ‘Mixed Emotions’, set to drop on Christmas Day.
The artist has been singing for as long as she can remember, honing her writing her style through poetry and music, since she was a child.
‘Sweet Lady’ serves as an ode to the very best of R&B music, and was inspired by an important person in her life.
‘Sweet Lady’ is only just over 2 minutes long but it travels through a range of styles and tempos in that time, with LashaiJay keeping in step with the rhythms all the way. It’s an interesting sound that takes a couple of listens to fully appreciate, and fills us with anticipation as to what her upcoming mixtape will be like.
LashaiJay brings back the old skool R&B sound with her music, and cites Jazmine Sullivan as being her major influence.
