Atlanta singer Lucky Harmon launched his music career in 2009, with his EP, ‘Welcome To My World’, and the follow up record, the EP, ‘Luckysworld’. If he seems familiar, it might be because he’s an actor too, with performances in the movies, ‘Fate Of The Furious’, ‘Pitch Perfect 3′, and Wonder Woman 84’, and appearances on tv shows, ‘The Vampire Diaries’, and ‘House Of Cards’. He’s also done ads for Mountain Dew, MGM Grand Casinos, and Golden Corral.
This year the pop/dance singer strode into the world with October’s release of ‘Luckysworld 2020 Tha LP’, an album filled with propulsive beats and decorated flows, tasteful lyricism and fearless self-expression.
Citing Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, LMFAO, J Balvin, Usher, Pitbull, and David Guetta (phew!) as his inspirations, Lucky Harmon also blends his personal experiences into every track on the new album. His new single, ‘Party Life’, features rapper BboyFidget, and comes with a music video that will send our FOMO radars up to 11, as they remind us of what we’re missing out on with their full on weekend vibes.
Putting his acting talents to good use, Lucky Harmon shows us in three and a half minutes just what we’re missing out on. There’s plenty of pretty girls, alcohol, and lots of dancing in the clip, not to mention gold chains and expensive cars. It’s the catchy refrain that you’ll remember most of all however, ‘Turn it up here we go / let the music take control’ – it not only takes us back to pre-covid times, but it also takes us back to the 90s and early 2000s, when life was a lot simpler.
On its release, ‘Party Life’ charted on Mediabase indie rhythmic, and became one of internet radio’s most popular requests, as well as the National Top 200, showing that even in these times of rolling lockdowns, we can “let the music take control” wherever we are, and anywhere can be a club if we want it to be.
