Taylor Grey surprised her fans last week by dropping her latest cover single ‘Bubbly’.
This beautiful version of the song shows a warm and gentle side to the singer, and rightfully so as the original track resonates deep with Grey. Speaking about the new release, Grey states:
“’Bubbly’ was released when I was 10 years old and it was one of the first songs that made me fall in love with songwriting. When I was asked to record some covers in the UK, I immediately thought of ‘Bubbly’. Colbie Caillat is such a beautiful writer and has been a big inspiration to me, especially in my early years of writing. When I began singing, she is the first person people would tell me I reminded them of. Now 12 years later, after many artistic shifts, I thought this was the perfect song to bring me back to my roots.”
The talented songwriter started on the music scene back in 2016, the same year she began studying at Stanford University in order to obtain her undergraduate degree. Alongside her studies, the 21-year-old has been building a name for herself as a recording artist where she takes contemporary pop and turns it in to an authentic masterpiece full of vulnerability – lyrically and in her delivery.
Her most recent project is her self titled EP ‘GREY’ which was produced by Oliver “Oligee” Goldstein – who has worked with the likes of Foster the People and Christina Aguilera – and Josh Abraham who has also worked with some big names including P!nk and Justin Bieber. This EP has been featured on some of Spotify’s major playlists such as “Pop Sauce” and has been supported by a variety of media outlets including; iHeart, YSBNow, Just Jared, and more.
Grey released her catchy and playful single ‘Intentionally’ back in May after premiering live in Manchester’s iconic venue the O2 Apollo, whilst supporting The Vamps on their UK Four Corners Tour. Grey shows no sign of stopping as it has been recently announced that she will be joining the boys of New Hope Club on their US/Canada leg of their world tour.
