Dido Releases Sophie Muller Directed Video For ‘Give You Up’

Dido has today revealed the video for her single, ‘Give You Up’. It precedes her new album, ‘Still On My Mind’, set for release on 8th March.

The beautifully shot video, directed by Sophie Muller, known for her work with Björk, Beyoncé, Radiohead, and Blur, was filmed in Paris and London, and perfectly captures the pain of heartbreak.

‘Give You Up’ was written by Dee Adam, Si Hulbert, and Australian duo The Opposite Kids, who comprise Denny Thakrar and Rob Agostini. Speaking of the track, Dido said,

It’s just so perfect. It’s a good break up song, where you’ve been hurt but feel strong. It’s that point in a relationship where you are pulling yourself out of the gutter and deciding that it’s their loss. Which I can totally relate to.

‘Still On My Mind’ is Dido’s fifth studio album, and was written and recorded in England, with Dido working alongside her longterm collaborator, brother Rollo. The singer is about to launch her world tour, including the following sold out UK and Irish dates in May:

Sun 26th Glasgow, Royal Concert Hall SOLD OUT
Mon 27th Dublin, Olympia Theatre SOLD OUT
Wed 29th Manchester, Albert Hall SOLD OUT
Thur 30th London, The Roundhouse SOLD OUT
Fri 31st London, The Roundhouse SOLD OUT

Dido, with sales of more than 40 million albums internationally, is one of the best-selling UK artists ever. Both her album, ‘No Angel’, and its 2003 follow-up, ‘Life For Rent’, remain among the UKs best-selling albums of all time.
