Released on January 4 on Hunter Corp Records, Fleur East’s new single ‘Favourite Thing’ is an homage to her mother’s Ghanaian heritage, and is a brilliant fusion of dance beats, tribal drums, and African chants, held together with a gorgeous melody.
‘Favourite Thing’ kicks off the new year for Fleur, who is fresh from her fantastic turn on ITVs ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’. Co-written by Fleur, along with Phil Plested and Dayo Olatunji, and produced by Red Triangle, the song comes with a sensational video which shows off Fleur’s considerable dancing talent, as well as her formidable vocal skills. The video was directed and edited by Moe Swaleh, with choreography by Eden Shabtai.
Speaking about ‘Favourite Thing’ Fleur said,
“The song has influences from my mother’s side of my family in Ghana. My mum has always made sure I know a lot about my heritage. It’s really anthemic and upbeat. I’m so grateful to be starting 2019 in the position I’m in. I really feel like people got to see the real me in the jungle. I’m so much stronger as a person now and I’m really happy with my new music.”
