Cole Toury Releases 4 Track EP ‘Faraway Places’

Cole Toury has just released a moving tribute to the soldiers of World War 1, the Great War, the “war to end all wars”. Released on 11 October, ahead of the 100th anniversary of World War 1, on 11 November 2018, the 4 track EP, ‘Faraway Places’, features melodic pop songs which tell their stories.

Focusing on the idea of “places”, both physical and those of the mind, ‘Faraway Places’ considers what places do we go to, if we don’t follow the herd mentality, and choose to live “off grid” or think outside the box?
Each track from ‘Faraway Places’ has a different lead: ‘Fourth Side Of The Triangle’ focuses on differences, and going against the grain; ‘Silence On The Water’ is a deep, meditative track, whose lyrics ask, “where do we go for solace, where is our homeland?”
‘California’ is, the impression many have of US the state itself, much more mystical and dreamlike, and describes a place for dreamers, castaways and fugitives; while title track ‘Faraway Places’ examines the futility of war: young men, off on an adventure, and the volunteers who ended up fighting for “places” with names which meant nothing to them.
