nIMO & The Light – ‘Skin to Skin’

With a name inspired by the captain from ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: A Tour of the Underwater World’ by French science fiction writer Jules Verne nIMO & The Light rise from the depths of indie music.

Coming together in 2013 the band comprises nIMO kALLY, Brian Karp, Shahar Mintz, Stefano Baldasseroni, and Chen Prat. The New York based group take their inspiration from the likes of Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Radiohead, and Muse, and their latest single, ‘Skin To Skin’, as well as the accompanying music video, gives fans a taste of what to expect from upcomping debut album, ‘DoNT FEEd tHE PIGEoNS’.

‘Skin To Skin’ tells the tale of a forbidden love affair between a high class society lady and her bodyguard. The video opens on a black and white shot of kALLY, sounding something between Steve Strange and David Bowie; he calls out to his love – colour fills the screen, we see shots of the lady, caught up in the background, and in her sheltered life. We’re left without answers – do they manage to steal away from prying eyes? Can their love defy expectations of society?
