Astha looked like she had it all. A flourishing career, with sold out shows across the UK, Australia, and Asia, touring with her boyfriend, who also worked as her producer. All was not as it seemed however. Behind closed doors Astha was having breakdowns, falling asleep in tears, and waking up exhausted. Something was missing – she needed more.
Returning to her home of Toronto, Astha set out to find herself again. She left her relationship, and started over. ‘More’ is her first single to be released from her new EP, ‘Muse’, out 6 July. The song represents the struggles in a relationship: feeling frustrated, lonely, and misunderstood; as well as the calm after the storm, where the love for that person helps you to set aside all your differences.
Astha’s soothing, ethereal voice reminds us of the likes of Lana Del Rey and Florence Welch. It’s a passionate and emotive track with a catchy instrumental. We’ve found your new summer jam!
