Australian/Swedish duo Tiny Fighter haven’t been making music together for very long, but they are a name to watch out for. Tim Spelman moved from Melbourne to Stockholm in 2016, where he joined forces with local singer Theres Karlsson. The pair work to their strengths: Tim starts songs, Therese finishes them – together they play indie-pop music with a bittersweet edge and their debut single, ‘New Century’ is the perfect example.
‘New Century’ capturesthe tension between unfulfilled desire, and resigning to your fate, while at the same time being driven to take control of your destiny and make a difference. The music video continues with this theme, and was filmed using a 360 degree camera, re-imagining natural and urban landscapes. Directed by Kyle V James and Mallori Taylor, who also star in the video, it was shot in Milwaukee, where the pair live. Dreamlike exaggerations of their selves are used as a metaphor for personal changes which are just out of reach. The entire clip was made in camera, with no special effects added post-production.
Tiny Fighter are planning to tour Europe and Australia, and possibly the US. You can find out more information about Tiny Fighter online on their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
