Hailing from Houston, Texas, Imaní Scott is on a mission to bring intelligence back to people listening to music, and get the human race back to where it should be. With her confidence and impeccable work ethic, it’s hard to ignore her attitude. Her latest single, ‘Throwing Glitter’, is a powerhouse track with deep instrumentation and a funky, modern sound reminiscent of the likes of Missy Elliot and Beyoncé.
Recently graduating from Sam Houston State University, Imaní hasn’t let the grass grow under her feet, and after the singles, ‘Get Litty’, and ‘All Over Again’, released her debut album, ‘An Introduction’, in October this year, which was produced by Isaac “Chill” Yowman. ‘Throwing Glitter’, her newest single, is already making waves, with the crisp dance sounds and a great music video to go with it. Brightly coloured with Imaní flanked by other women in an expression of girl power, she encorporates sounds of disco, funk, R&B, and good old fashioned pop to create a feel good anthem and encouraging us to put our worries to one side and instead throw glitter “all night long”.
