Ben Haenow is coming out of the darkness and taking back the night.
The Croydon-born singer recently released his impassioned new single ‘Alive’ and it has been met with a rapturous response. With an explosive chorus and faultless rock-infused vocals, Ben is reminding everyone why he was crowned the winner of The X Factor in 2014.
‘Alive’ is Ben’s first independent release and it’s a song that has been dedicated to all of his devoted fans. Without their ongoing support, Ben knows that he wouldn’t be living his dream today.
Speaking about his new single, Ben said:
“My inspiration for ‘Alive’ was and is the fans. I had the idea for the song towards the end of the first tour which was after the drop from Syco. I had doubts about carrying on, and it was really the support of the fans that kept me going and kept my dream alive.
“I owe it all to them and wanted to write almost a thank you song. Going out on stage night after night on that tour and having people singing along and going crazy at the shows is an incredible feeling. It gave me my confidence back after parting ways with a major label. #PeoplePower”
The heartfelt anthem was co-written by Ben and his brother Alex. It follows Ben’s platinum-selling number one single ‘Something I Need’ and his hugely successful debut album which was certified gold in both the UK and South Africa.
To celebrate the release of ‘Alive’, Ben recently hosted a launch party at Fu Manchu in London. At the event, he filmed the official video for the single and he encouraged all of his fans to attend the shoot for their chance to make a cameo appearance. The video will be premiering online very soon.
‘Alive’ is the title track from Ben’s forthcoming EP which will feature three further original songs and a guitar-driven cover of ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ by Bill Withers. Ben originally sung the timeless classic at his very first X Factor audition.
It’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Ben Haenow. With more music on the way and lots planned for 2017, the much-loved singer is sure to keep on rising. He’s proven time and time again that he’s a formidable talent.
