LA based duo Highland Kites offer up their latest single ‘This War Inside’ as a free MP3 download via Magnet. ‘This War Inside’ is off the duos recently released EP, Let Me Run, which features a nice blend of indie and folk rock with vague elements of electronic music. Another outstanding song on the new EP, ‘Let Me Run’, was featured in Free Bike Valet whom noted about the title track that, “With help from producer Raymond Richards (Local Natives, Avid Dancer), the mellow track embraces a somber, haunting opening yet eventually crescendos into their signature folk-laced, majestic indie rock.” You can stream the single ‘Let Me Run’ on Soundcloud.

For singer and songwriter Marissa Lamar music became her ultimate savior as she spent most of her 20’s very sick from Lyme disease, forcing her into immense doubt and despair. Her songwriting helped her to persevere and overcome her crippling illness. She eventually teamed up with drummer Neil Briggs and formed Highland Kites in 2014.
