With an upbeat pop sound not unlike Britney Spears, Canadian/US singer Novel presents ‘Give Me Twenty’. The single was produced by the Grammy Award winning Jared Lee Gosslin, and is accompanied by a very cheeky video.
Originally from Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan (population 515), moved to Los Angeles and quickly threw herself into LA life with her pop/dance music mix. Novel began dancing at 3, was competing at 5, and graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Ballet in 2009. At the same time, Novel focused on music, writing and performing original songs all over Canada, with her first live TV performance at age 12. This led to her becoming a guest performer for top Canadian Country artists, as well as the privilege of singing both Canadian and US National Anthems for NHL hockey teams – in front of a crowd of 18,000. Novel explains, with a laugh:
“I get more nervous if I notice there isn’t a crowd. The bigger the crowd the better I perform.”
‘Give Me Twenty’ is the ultimate workout song, and combines Novel’s love of dance and movement of the human body with her passion for music. It’s accompanied by a video set in a sleepy retirement home, whose residents are shaken into life by a visit from a guest fitness instructor: Novel.
