‘Mouth To Mouth’, out on Ra-Ra Rok, June 3, is a fresh slice of garage punk from CuT.
Recorded at Famous Times analogue studios, it was produced by Joe Isherwood, famous for his work with Sheet Noise, and Sean Read – known for Dexys Midnight Runners, Dave Gahan, and Graham Coxon.
CuT re-merge with a newly invigorated pulsating sound with this new track, adding a splash of pop action to their darker punk vibrations. It still incorporates the deeper, and more hypnotic space grunge rock energy that is their signature, yet at the same time, their new sound is a transformation, which evolves each time they play live.
‘Mouth To Mouth’ both literally and metaphorically explores the world of life and death, and lead singer Dan Gigaseri’s wish to influence past events, and breathe life back into a friend, sadly lost to suicide.
‘Mouth To Mouth’ is the first single since CuT exploded last year with their performance at the Isle Of Wight Festival, and it looks set to build on the success of previous releases, ‘This Way That Way’, and ‘Page 59’, which were greeted with widespread support and acclaim from the likes of Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy.
You can see CuT at The Waiting Room, Stoke Newington, on 12 May. Entry is free.
CuT are: Daniel Gigaseri on Vox, Gabi Garbutt on Bass and Vox, Jimi Scandal on Guitar and Vox, and Neil Ganesha on Drums.
