Young and talented R&B/Pop artist, J-Sol, releases his new single, ‘No Make Up’, following his debut EP, Genesis, which shows off his amazing ability to write and perform music with the best of them. With a daunting list of accomplishments at only 21 years of age and an amazing voice to back it up, J-Sol looks poised and ready to find his share of stardom in the pop music scene.
The new single ‘No Make Up’ has a distinct R&B flavour that works perfectly for the extremely talented vocal performance of J-Sol with a well arranged song that puts everything into place. The song features a great laid back beat accompanied by simplistic instrumentation that is blanketed by J-Sol’s vocals, which carry the dynamics, as the instrumentation makes subtle changes to compliment them and a hip-hop vocal breakdown by Geko to shake things up a bit toward the end. The song definitely is fit for any romantic occasion and gives off the classic R&B vibe of love, romance, and cuddling that works so well with his style of singing.
J-Sol already has a huge list of accomplishments at such a young age from vocally supporting artists such as Boyz II Men, Wretch 32, Bobby Valentino, Chipmunk and Misha B; to choreographing & dancing in-front of audiences of thousands for superstars like Kanye West, D’banj and Cover Drive. In 2014, the success of his R&B/Pop track ‘Keep It On The Low’ (featuring US R&B starlet Dondria Nicole & one of the UK’s most on demand rappers Sneakbo) led to plays on stations such as BBC 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1, Capital XTRA, BANG FM, REPREZENT RADIO, Rinse FM, Kiss 100 & many more. He has sold over 1,000 copies to date & has achieved playlists on FLAVA, AKA and many more channels. 2013 saw J-Sol being nominated for a Spirit of London Award for ‘Achievement Through Music’, which resulted in him being invited to 10 Downing Street to be congratulated by David Cameron.
When J-Sol covered the song ‘Beautiful Me’ by Dappy, former member of N-Dubz, Dappy responded stating, “You are a breath of fresh air, this is why I do what I do”.
There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.
We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
