Almost exactly a year ago we featured Jedward’s John Grimes’ cover of the Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber single, ‘Monster’. Now we bring you another take on the song, by The Veer Union. Unlike John’s rendition, which saw him sing accompanied only by his acoustic guitar, and indeed, the original song, which was a dance pop number – in the hands of The Veer Union, and featuring Late Night Savior & Stealing Eden, the song is shaken from its pop foundations and given a more punk, almost heavy metal treatment.
Fame at a young age can have a dramatic effect on a person, a fact to which Justin Bieber, and fellow Canadian and former child star, Shawn Mendes, can certainly attest. The pair last month released their collaborative single, ‘Monster’, in which they recount the roller coaster ride each has been through, the highs and lows of being hot and then not – and what it does to one’s mental health and well-being.
Temecula Road are starting to make a big splash in Country Music. The band is made up of sisters Emma & Maddie Salute and longtime friend Dawson Anderson and their beautiful harmonies, youthful energy and Country vibe even has Carrie Underwood hailing them as “one to watch”. They were at C2C 2017 in March of this year and have exciting times ahead of them.
Over Atlantic are an international band from the UK, US, and Sweden. Based in England, the quintet are Charlie Jones, Sean Killeen, Gabriel Gomér, Liam Ross, and Trevor Cash. The guys are about to set off on their first UK headline tour this October, and our writer Malvika Padin had the chance to catch up with them.
