While Roger Jaeger Is Prone To ‘Wander’ With New Track, He Makes His Home Wherever He May Be

While he was born in Oklahoma, and honed his craft in Nashville, Roger Jaeger’s sound nevertheless is more that of the world-traveller, taking some of each part of the world he’s lived in. He moved to the former logging city of Redding, in California, at the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic, and it was here that he discovered the serenity that’s evident in ‘Wander’, the title track of his latest album.

Roger Jaeger – ‘It’s My Time’

Redding California singer songwriter Roger Jaeger has assembled a fine group to play the live version of his latest single, ‘It’s My Time’. There’s a drummer who lays down a steady groove, a pianist who supports the song with ringing, resonant, and broad chords, and an acoustic guitarist whose harmonies blend both beautifully and enthusiastically with Roger himself. His combo is assembled in a brick-walled room, and there’s even a choir in the corner. Jaeger looks every bit an Americana frontman, with his easy-going manner and his expressive, red-bearded face. One thing sets him apart however; instead of a guitar in his lap, he plays a sitar.
