Queen Extravaganza Are Back To Celebrate 50 Years Of Queen!

It was July 1986 and I was standing at Wembley waiting to see Queen play their last world tour date at the famous National Stadium. I had watched support bands INXS, Status Quo and The Alarm whip the sold out crowd into a frenzy of expectant excitement that seemed almost impossible to match and yet, and unsurprisingly, Queen managed to not only match but surpass all expectations in what became remembered as an iconic gig.

On the 31st October 1975, the face of British music changed forever. Bohemian Rhapsody was released and took the music world by storm. A song without a chorus that lasts for nearly six minutes and has an operatic section was a real gamble. Add to that the huge cost of production and a ground breaking video that Rolling Stone magazine credits with ” inventing the music video seven years before MTV went on air”, its influence cannot be overstated. It was in short a game changer!
