The Internet has definitely taken a hold of most of our lives, and ultimately it’s up to us to decide if we’re going to let it rule our lives, or embrace it and let it work for us. The latter is certainly the case for Unintended Strangers, an indie/folk duo comprising Robert Griffin in the US, and Chloe Danz, of New Zealand, who after a chance meeting online back in November 2017 decided to join forces as a musical project.
‘Used To Be’, by 20 year old singer songwriter Daniel Shaw, is one of those instant earworms that’s going to echo through your brain for hours afterwards. Opening up with a very familiar piano refrain – it reminds us of something but we can’t quite put our finger on it – by the time Daniel starts singing we know we’re going to remember this one for a long time.
A BOI – aka the cleverly named Absolutely Bereft Of Imagination – is the latest project from Austin Texas artist, TaSzlin, better known as one third of the uncompromising social justice warrior trio, BLXPLTN. With A BOI he examins his more meditative side, and his latest track, ‘See Through’, is dreamily electronic, and altogether trippy.
