Roger Jaeger – ‘It’s My Time’

Redding California singer songwriter Roger Jaeger has assembled a fine group to play the live version of his latest single, ‘It’s My Time’. There’s a drummer who lays down a steady groove, a pianist who supports the song with ringing, resonant, and broad chords, and an acoustic guitarist whose harmonies blend both beautifully and enthusiastically with Roger himself. His combo is assembled in a brick-walled room, and there’s even a choir in the corner. Jaeger looks every bit an Americana frontman, with his easy-going manner and his expressive, red-bearded face. One thing sets him apart however; instead of a guitar in his lap, he plays a sitar.

Matthew J Van Howe Takes Us Into Another World With New Release ‘Legend Of The Galactic Princess’

‘Legend Of The Galactic Princess’, by Matthew J Van Howe, is everything you’d expect from a song with such a title. Part ‘Blade Runner’, part Doctor Who soundtrack, part nod to Gary Numan, and Thomas Dolby (and maybe a little bit of ELO), the song combines the elegance of classical music, with a dark, synth heavy experimentation. The title track of the album of the same name, ‘Legend Of The Galactic Princess’ is out August 13.

Ben Abraham Releases New Single ‘Requiem’ As He Announces Headline London Gig.

A requiem in its literal sense would suggest a solemn chant for the repose of the dead but this song, for me, is more about the laying bare of a soul and the requiem for things passed and laid to rest rather than bodies. A song of new beginnings and putting things into perspective. St. Augustine teaches us that the ultimate purpose of education is turning towards God and that the way to God was to look into oneself. Introspection is the beginning of a journey towards God and there is reference to this and a need to have been more in touch with those teachings than the thoughts and reactions of the angry.

Album Review: NEEDTOBREETHE Dig Deep With ‘Into The Mystery’

NEEDTOBREATHE returns with their eighth studio album, ‘Into The Mystery’, following up on 2020’s ‘Out of Body.’ Covid restrictions have put their tour on hold over the past year, so the band took refuge at an old historic house near Columbia, Tennessee. In the autumn of 2020, they lived, ate, joked, and recorded together for three weeks. The outcome is an electrifying album that captures the band’s South Carolina heritage.
