A captivating electropop track, ‘Gaslight’ takes from a deeply personal set of events Tina experienced, surrounding a particular person. It’s a cathartic release, that also signifies a milestone in the artist’s evolution, seeing her blend intricate sound design while maintaining a profound lyrical insight.
Tina Halma’s vocals are forthright and powerful, confronting the subject of the song with determination and strength, letting them know exactly what she thinks of their gaslighting ways. ‘Gaslight’ serves as part of the healing process, and underpinned her belief that music has the power to transform and have an impact on the lives of others.
Self-produced in the living room of her flat, using Ableton Live, the lyrics for ‘Gaslight’ came to Tina in just two days, while the entire song was produced over a couple of weeks. Additionally, she collaborated with a sound engineer colleague, to ensure the final product elevated the song to her satisfaction.
