Elements of pop and alternative pop can be found in ‘Lies’, which started during a creative session with Atlanta-based producer, Major Seven, in Kariem’s home studio. The pair explored a range of ideas, before discovering a sample that really pulled the track together. ‘Lies’ was recorded in London, before Kariem put his own finishing touches on the production.

‘Lies’ explores relationships, particularly in terms of trust, and the complex nature of human connection. With innovative production methods, the track also serves as a showcase for Kariem’s personal growth, and his journey as an artist. His vocals are authentic and impassioned, set against a synths and a mesmerising percussive rhythm.

Speaking about ‘Lies’, Kariem explained, “This song is a journey of self-discovery and expression. It’s about those moments when you realize things aren’t what they seemed. I hope listeners connect with the emotions and the honesty behind the track.”

Born in Italy, with an Egyptian father and a mother with both Italian and Spanish heritage, Kariem Mohamed Ali immersed himself in music after first picking up a guitar when he was 12 years old, and it soon became his deepest passion and driving force. Now aged 26, Kariem has also learned not just guitar, but also piano, songwriting, and music production; he also took his first steps into the music industry by playing guitar for a prominent Italian artist. He moved his base to London after the Covid-19 Pandemic, and immersed himself in the UK’s music scene.

While Kariem’s musical foundation is pop (he was first inspired by Michael Jackson, who still has a clear influence on his sound), he also explores a variety of genres, maintaining his focus on emotional depth and authenticity.
