Belfast’s Nathan O’Regan introduced the soulful sound of his upcoming covers EP ‘Uncovered Vol.1’ with the Motown-inspired ‘It’ll Be Alright’, written by Gareth Dunlop. Now, O’Regan has revealed a unique version of ‘Follow You Down’, originally taken from award-winning Irish songwriter Ciaran Lavery’s 2013 album ‘Not Nearly Dark’.
‘Uncovered Vol.1’ is set to pay homage to the music that shaped him, picking out musical gems from his Irish roots. Introducing a bluesy twist to the ethereal folk track, the results are rich and warm, combining sharp, retro instrumentation with emotionally-fuelled vocals. Softly melodic, this comforting rendition of a hopeful love song is a testament to O’Regan’s ability to reinterpret songs with a completely distinctive flair.
Nathan O’Regan has found a foothold in the Irish music scene with his passionate performance style. Before kick-starting his solo career, O’Regan curated the acclaimed monthly live show ‘Songbook’ in Belfast, which created an outlet for emerging talent in the local music scene. ‘Uncovered Vol.1’ is set to close the cover on this chapter, and showcase his devotion to the songs he grew up with.
