After the release of her heartfelt singles, ‘Your Memory Is A Song’, and ‘Devil’, Robbi Atkins joins forces with Wild Horse Desert, fellow South Texas vocalists, for an album that serves as a showcase for her songwriting ability, as well as her singing. The storytelling quality of tracks like ‘Get It Done’ show why she’s been compared to the likes of Dolly Parton and Shania Twain.
Opening with the bittersweet title track, ‘A Good One’ leaves the listener in no misapprehension as to Robbi Atkins’ intention; this album is out to stir up the listeners’ emotions, and leave us wanting more. Robbi Atkins clearly takes inspiration from the country music of the 70s and 80s, while at the same time giving it a modern twist.
