Sam Smith Revealed As Final Surprise Star To Complete ‘Barbie The Album’

Multi-platinum, GRAMMY®, BRIT, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning artist Sam Smith concludes the stellar cast of global superstars to feature on ‘BARBIE THE ALBUM’. Their brand new song, ‘Man I Am’, will arrive on 21st July, in conjunction with the feature film and official soundtrack’s release.

Lending their tremendous songwriting and vocal ability to the most hotly anticipated movie soundtrack in recent years, ‘Man I Am’ showcases Sam singing from the perspective of Ken.

“I cannot begin to express how incredibly excited I am to be a part of the soundtrack to this already iconic film,” they explain. “I was invited by the incredible Mark Ronson and Greta Gerwig to write a song from the perspective of Ken for one of the scenes and we honestly had so much fun with this. I cannot wait for you to hear what we’ve created together.”

Following the announcement Mark Ronson added –

“One of the most epic pieces of sexual synth pop majesty I have ever been a part of and the final piece of Ken’s story. Vocals that send chills through you. I cannot wait for you to hear this song with the icon Sam Smith.”

The latest addition to Sam’s electric red carpet collection was at last night’s Barbie European Premiere, where they were personally styled by Guram Gvasalia, Creative Director of the maverick Vetements, from their SS24 collection.

‘Man I Am’ was preceded by K-Pop group FIFTY FIFTY and Atlanta-bred rapper Kaliii’s collaboration on, ‘Barbie Dreams‘, Charli XCX’s, ‘Speed Drive‘, global megastars Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s iconic, ‘Barbie World‘, UK-based artist and producer PinkPantheress’ captivating track, ‘Angel‘, global recording artist KAROL G’s high-energy anthem, ‘WATATI (ft. Aldo Ranks)’, and the soundtrack’s electrifying lead single, ‘Dance The Night‘, from 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning global superstar, Dua Lipa, who also makes a special appearance in the film.

The musical companion to the highly anticipated summer event film, ‘Barbie’, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, is now available for pre-order HERE and arrives in stores and at all online retailers on Friday, 21st July in conjunction with the theatrical release.
