Heidi Klum is starting 2022 by ticking a huge item off her bucket list. The globally renowned model, TV host and businesswoman has turned her talents to music, announcing her first ever single, ‘Chai Tea with Heidi’, featuring the legendary Snoop Dogg and produced by US DJ duo WeddingCake. The track is the opener for the 17th Season of Heidi’s show Germany’s Next Topmodel, which began airing on Thursday 13th January.
This special collaboration sees Snoop Dogg lending his signature flow to the anthemic club track, with Heidi joining for the chorus of classic ‘Baby Jane’, paying homage to rock legend Rod Stewart. The glamorous accompanying music video, directed by fashion photography icon Rankin, features Snoop doing what he does best in his signature fur coat and shades, with Heidi owning it on the runway!
“When we were discussing the title song for the upcoming season of Germany’s Next Top Model, it was suggested perhaps I should record my own song this year. I love stepping outside of my comfort zone and challenging myself so it was something I was definitely considering but I knew there was only one person I wanted to sing with,” Heidi Klum says of their collaboration.
“I am a huge Snoop Dogg fan and I figured I needed to go big or go home. I contacted him about the idea and, to my surprise and delight, he invited me to come to his studio. I love a song that makes people want to dance and have fun… and Snoop helped deliver just that. Sometimes, I need to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming this because it is truly a dream come true.”
Heidi Klum is known for standing out and pushing boundaries in every aspect of her career, and her music will undoubtedly be no different. She began modelling nearly 30 years ago, initially winning a German TV modelling competition in 1992 and swiftly working with brands such as Victoria’s Secret. Heidi later transferred to television, first hosting and producing the phenomenally successful Project Runway from 2004 to 2017, before presenting Germany’s Next Topmodel and, more recently, judging on America’s Got Talent. Whether it’s stunning with her legendary Halloween costumes, hosting on national television or collaborating with world famous rappers, Heidi always takes on the next challenge with a smile.
