Finnian has cemented himself as one of the rising stars in the Irish music scene, and is set to release his debut album, ‘Under The Influence’, on July 24. The album is preceded by his new single, ‘Fly’.
Dundalk singer songwriter Finnian released his debut single in 2019, and has found much support both at home and in the UK and US, where he’s been featured on radio, and his organic soulful sound, reminiscent of the likes of Eric Clapton, John Mayall, and even Marc Bolan and David Bowie has struck a chord with listeners. He’s done numerous live sessions and interviews with BBC Radio Ulster, RTE Radio 1, and Today FM.
‘Under The Influence’ is the result of two years of work which sees Finnian marry his immense lyrical talents to a musicality which belies his origins in folk music. The album was recorded directly to tape at Black Mountain Studios, Dundalk, under the guidance of Producer Peter Baldwin and Grammy Award Winning engineer Ben Kane ( D’Angelo, The Roots, Nora Jones, Emily King).
Finnian has collaborated on the album with some of Ireland’s finest talent including Jess Kav of Barq and Booka Brass, among others.
The nine tracks have each been created in such as way as to display effortlessly the power of Finnian’s live performance, and expresses very human emotions in ways that set it apart from other releases this year.
