Album Of The Week: Aut Ratchaphom Wows With Debut Album ‘LeadOFF’

Aut Ratchaphom is from Perth, Western Australia, and has just released his debut album, fittingly entitled, ‘LeadOFF’. The 13 track album came out on 29 February, is a brightly brilliant example of what is still to come from the 18 year old singer songwriter.

A Thai/Australian independent artist, Aut favours pop stylings for his music, although he also dips into pop-rock, country, electronic, and synth as well. Taking his inspiration from artists such as Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift, Aut is a gifted lyricist, whose songs tell stories, examining his past romances, as well as relationships he’s had with people in the past. Thematically it forms a coming-of-age album, and is a very positive indication of his talent and future.

Assisting Aut in the production of ‘LeadOFF’ were Renea Moso, who produced 11 of the 13 tracks, Thomas Crogan (on ‘Move On’), and Chanon Paopatimakorn (‘Slow Motion’).

Our favourite track on the album is the slow, anthemic ‘Had Nothing But Times We Had Together’, which comes in at track 5 on ‘LeadOFF’. The song is a fantastic showcase of Aut’s musical talent, his vocals sweet and clear as he expresses his sadness of loves lost.

‘LeadOFF’ is available to stream and download from Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
