Tom Keifer #keiferband – ‘HYPE’

Tom Keifer is probably best known as the front man for Cinderella, who produced some of the most memorable and popular blues-infused rock songs of the 80s-90s glam era. He’s also the man behind the pen of songs such as ‘Nobody’s Fool’, ‘Don’t Know What You Got (Until It’s Gone)’, ‘Coming Home’, ‘Shelter Me’, and ‘Heartbreak Station’, just to name a few.

Told he’d never sing again, after suffering a paralysed vocal cord in the 90s, Tom Keifer fought back, and after a number of surgeries and years of rehabilitation, he’s got back that which he’d lost, and, although sounding a bit grittier than before, he’s released two solo albums, to critical acclaim, with his new group, #keiferband. Written by Tom and Savannah Keifer, ‘HYPE’ is the new single from the band’s latest album, ‘RISE’.

The song starts with a roar and keeps up the intensity for a full three and a half minutes, while #keiferband continue just as fierce, snarling, white hot fire, filled with rage, playing as if  their lives depended on it.

The video for ‘HYPE’, directed by Vincente Codero, shows that Tom Keifer still has what it takes in front of the camera. He’s the focus of the video and shouts his message, drowning out the overbearing noise of information and deception we’re bombarded with every single day. It’s not just his show however, there’s plenty of time for his band onscreen, who play the song with all the rock and roll swagger the song demands, and that #keiferband are known for.
