Pop princess Allegra is back with another well-known cover track. This time the ‘All About Us’ hitmaker is taking on Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi, with his absolute pop triumph of a track ‘Someone You Loved’.
No stranger to a classic cover, Allegra has an ever-increasing back catalogue of taking her pop vocals and applying them to commercial songs currently in the charts. So far, the singer has put her spin on Taylor Swifts ‘Lover’ and Selena Gomez’ ‘Lose You To Love Me’, in a collaborative effort with internet influencer Kurt Hugo Schneider. Back out on her own, Allegra has now followed up her upbeat version of Loud Luxury’s ‘Body’ with a slower song, in the form of the formidable Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Loved’.
With both a recording and visual coming together in a package, Allegra’s beautifully addictive tone and utterly captivating presence come together in perfect harmony. Shot during a recent visit to LA, the live video is performed in a stripped back, acoustic style, with minimal instrumentals and maximum vocals being the focal point of this Capaldi cover.
Having had an epic 2019, with the success of the singer-songwriters breakout single ‘All About Us’ shooting to unpredicted heights on Music Week and Billboard charts, for Allegra this latest Lewis Capaldi track is setting her up for a 2020 full of more covers and original material.
