On the back of his two Brit Awards wins and his chart-topping debut album ‘What A Time To Be Alive’, Tom Walker put on a heartfelt performance for his Nottingham fans at Rock City.
Kicking off the first date of his tour, with the anthemic ‘Angels’, Tom set the right tone for the amazing night ahead. Then followed a glimpse into the past with ‘Fly Away With Me’ before the ethereal instrumentals and clean vocals of ‘How Can You Sleep At Night’ graced our ears.
While newer tracks like ‘Blessings’,‘Just You And I’, and ‘Fade Away’, slow the pace of the night, other offerings like ‘Cry Out’, and ‘Dominoes’ help pick up the pace; becoming fan favourites.
While each track elicited the same heights of excitement and love from his loyal legion of fans, it is undeniably and unsurprisingly ‘Leave A Light On’, his internationally acclaimed single, that brought the biggest reaction as he emerged for an encore of the track and ‘ Not Giving In’.
Other highlights – which gave his four-piece band a chance to shine – included ‘My Way’ and ‘Walk Alone’.
Chatty, charismatic and consistent with his performances, Tom Walker is a proven talent. And as you stand in the crowds you can’t help but think what a great time it is to be alive – to get the chance to experience his soulful music.
