LoFi Producer Philip Marlon Returns With New Releases

We first introduced our readers to Philip Marlon back in February this year, as part of Matti Meets Marloni. Now he’s back with some new music, including the track, ‘Sent From Heaven’, which was given a lyric video by Instagrammer, Paletteism.

The 17 year old LoFi producer, from Aarhus, Denmark, began producing, writing, and sampling music in 2015, and in 2017 started releasing his first tracks on Spotify, to some acclaim. He began sampling the work of Shiloh Dynasty the same year, producing tracks, ‘In Her Heart’, and ‘Solo For So Long’. Philip’s most recent release, ‘You Can’t Find Better Than Me‘, is gaining traction, and has gone viral on the LoFi Charts. Marlon’s greatest musical influences are XXXTENTACION, Kanye West and Tomppabeats, and he works with themes of love, heartbreak, and depression. Philip Marlon views his lyrics as poetry, and this is reflected in his songs.

Recently, Marlon, who is also known for his Flowie and ToiBoi projects, found his track ‘Sent From Heaven’, given a lyric video made by influential Instagrammer, Paletteism, and reposted by fellow Instagrammer, lofichills. Paletteism takes anime clips and repurposes them, adding a music track and lyrics on the screen. The clip he has chosen perfectly suits the sombre vibe of the track. The reposted clip has so far garnered over 33,000 views, while the song itself has been streamed more than 26,000 times on Spotify. Reposts of Marlon’s tracks on Instagram have to date received over half a million views, proving that this is an exciting new way to listen to discover music you may not have heard before.

Things are on the up and up for Philip Marlon, who played his first show back in February this year, at Radar, in Aarhus. Still only 17, his future is bright and his goals are sky high, and he has plenty more live performances coming up in the future.
