For one night only, January 25, Escape Entertainment will revamp its existing bank heist games, and challenge teams of 2-6 players to pull off the ultimate diamond heist. The game has been inspired by the film, ‘King Of Thieves’, which stars Michael Caine, Jim Broadbent, Michael Gambon, Tom Courtenay, and Ray Winstone, among many other legendary names. ‘King Of Thieves’ is set for release on Blu-ray and DVD on January 21.
‘King Of Thieves’ is a 2018 British crime film, based on the true life story of the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit burglary of 2015. The total stolen had a possible value of up to £200 million, and has been called the largest burglary in English legal history.
The film, directed by James Marsh, and produced by Working Title Films for STUDIOCANAL, follows the plot led by 77 year old Brian Reader, a famous thief in his younger days, to rob the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit, along with his band of thieves, who are mostly in their 60s and 70s.
The release on Blu-ray and DVD contains extras including behind the scenes footage, interviews with cast, and an exploration of the fascinating true story behind one of the greatest heists in history. There’s also deleted scenes, and an interview with Michael Caine, talking about the criminals he and his castmates portray.
During the ‘King Of Thieves’ themed Escape evening, members of the public can see if they have what it takes – they have to first dismantle the alarm, and are then challenged to retrieve a set of diamonds hidden within a vault. Using clues and solving puzzles, the teams have only 60 minutes to get the diamonds and get out of there!
Escape Entertainment has been proclaimed by The New York Times as the premiere escape room experience, and included by CBS as one of the Top 5 things to do in London.
