With a goal of empowering others, LA-based recording artist and mental health advocate X. ARI released her latest single, ‘Something’, on November 16. The anthemic track showcases her dynamic voice and signature style, a blend of pop, alternative music, and EDM.
‘Something’ is the follow up to X. ARI’s previous single, ‘Stay v Go’, and shows how versatile an artist she is. The Toronto-born singer songwriter recently achieved some success with her EP, ‘Dis-Order’, and ‘Something’ is bound to take her to a higher place.
X. ARI was selected by Music Connection Magazine as one of their “HOT 100 LIVE UNSIGNED ARTISTS & BANDS 2018”, while she won “Best Female Artist”, and “Best Single”, at the Artistic Echoes Indie Awards. Additionally, X. ARI won first place at the Indie International Songwriting Competition back in March this year, with her song, ‘Teachers’, while ‘Stay v Go’ won first place at the Toronto IMSTA Fest Songwriting Competition in October, and the accompanying music video has been added to MTV Video On Demand, MTVU, and Music Choice.
Things are certainly looking up for X. ARI – renowned dance DJ trio, Bimbo Jones, who are known for their remixes of tracks by Rihanna, Britney Spears, Zedd, and more, have made a Radio Remix and Dirty Dub of ‘Stay v Go’:
Back in July X. ARI launched her “Pain Into Power” campaign, which included her second EP, ‘Dis-Order’, as well as a self care line, including reflection journals, soy relaxation candles, pencils, and amethyst healing bracelets, all in support of raising awareness of mental health issues, a subject close to X. ARI’s heart. The artist donates part of her show and merchandise proceeds to Jack.org, a Canadian charity inspiring and empowering young people to be leaders. ‘Something’ is a light and airy track, with that LA feel, and will lend itself easily to remixing. The track is a love song, about a relationship that could work but one person isn’t willing to commit – X. ARI is empahtic that they could be something – when the other is ready – but in the meantime she’s going to get on with her life. It feels deeply personal, with elements such as the idea that the other person threw themselves at her, yet he’s not completely done with his ex-wife and their children, and his home in Nevada – and yet he’s still stringing her along. It’s a strong and empowering track, urging us to be the captains of our own lives, to not let others manipulate us. Musically it’s a gentle pop song, and distinctly radio-ready, very appealing to the ear.
With “Pain Into Power” and her music, X. ARI focuses on sharing her own experiences, to show and empower others that they’re not alone – and to encourage them to find healing, to end the stigma about mental health issues, and to promote self care and life balance.
Clearly X. ARI never stops, and will be releasing her third EP, ‘UNI-FI’, in mid 2019. The first single from the new record will be ‘Breakpoint’, expected to come out on January 11.
